Okay I said it...here goes nothing!

Last year at this time I thought of a New Year Resolution that I wanted to conquer. I got really excited about it but I chickened out. I thought for sure I would fail so I never did it. December rolled around this year and once again the same thought came to mind. Yikes. Can I really do it? Should I? It would be fun! But, I don't have the time. hmmm?

To be honest, I would rather not call it a New Years Resolution. I have failed in one too many attempts in trying to fullfill them.

My 2011 project...
I love photography. I always have. Being a mommy that stays home with my kiddos it's easy to not find time for the things that God has passioned me for. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE everything about being a stay at home mom. There is not a day that goes by that I am I not grateful for the opportunity I have right now. I also know that I am a healthier and happier mommy and wife when I have outlets that recharge me.

Fact::The only way to get better at photography is by taking pictures often.

I have wanted to learn how to use my camera better particularly on manual settings. So my new years resolution for 2011 is I am going to attempt to take a picture(s) daily and post at least one to our blog. I can't gaurntee good pictures but my hope is that by the end of 2011 the quality of the pictures will be a little better than when I started.

By the way...Trav also came up with a New Years Resolution. My husband has a talent. If there was a sport in soda drinking, he would be a professional. That boy can drinks some serious soda. A couple weeks ago out of nowhere he told me, I think my new years resolution is going to be only drinking soda on Sundays. So we will see who lasts longer.

Logan is Four!

Four years ago on this very night, Travis and I had no idea we were hours away from meeting our sweet little girl 4 weeks early. Little did I know that my water would break and it would send us to the hospital to become parents. It's hard to believe that four years ago, I hadn't met the little girl who has changed my life forever.

Logan,

You are a perfect blend of your sweet Daddy and your sassy Mommy. You love people, music, crafts, Taylor Swift, baby dolls, your Daddy, learning and teaching. I wonder if you will be a teacher someday. Right now you say you want to be a Cheerleader, Rockstar or Babysitter when you grow up and you don't want any kids. I'm hoping that last part changes. :) You have a very sweet heart and I look forward to seeing how God will use it.

Tomorrow we will go get your first pedicure. A moment I have been looking forward since I found out I was pregnant with a girl. I look forward to making it a birthday tradition. Today I asked you if you would take ME to get a pedicure on my birthday. You told me, "No Mommy, I can't drive."

Just as quickly as we got here today, I know the next 4, 10, 20 years will also fly by. My prayer for you today sweet girl is simple. That you would know and love Jesus deeply. He created you perfectly in His image. I am so thankful that He entrusted your Daddy and I with such a darling child of His. I love you Baby Girl. And please stop growing up so fast.

What is hilarious about this picture is that I was trying to get a serious, beautiful Christmas picture for the scrapbook. Just check out her messy hair (I did it about 3 minutes before this photo was taken) and the pose. Yikes. Straight up gangsta!

Since Logan loves to cook, to celebrate her birthday we had some

friends over for a cooking party. It was crazy and so much work, but Logan had a ton of fun.

We made chef hats, pizza and decorated cupcakes. This is Logan rolling her pizza dough out.

Logan got her first guitar for her birthday.

On the 13th we celebrated in Logan's preschool class.

Only Two Left...

Over the past 3 days I have made 71 cupcakes. No I didn't joyfully make them as a Christmas treat for my neighbors or have a bake sale. Why, then were 71 cupcakes made? Because my little girl Logan Mae is turning 4 and cupcakes are her favorite.

Saturday we celebrated her birthday with a few friends for a cooking party. Sunday we had a birthday party for Jesus in her Sunday School class. Monday we celebrated her birthday at her preschool with her little class.

I can't wait to show you the pictures. But for now. I exhale....relieved that I don't have to make any cupcakes tonight.
