Luke 6 Months...

My sweet and extremely talented friend Cori Derksen took these pictures recently of our little man. Had to share. This was a little over a month ago when we took these. These are Luke's 6 month pictures. At the bottom are Lo's 6 month pictures. We tried to recreate one of the pictures we took with Logan with Trav and I's legs. It turned out a little different this time around but I really like it. So do they look like brother and sister?

Logan Mae 3 1/2 Years Old

Logan...
I'm so proud to be your Mommy. Lately you have been changing before my eyes and becoming a little girl. You are sweet, helpful and a wonderful little teacher. You LOVE preschool. Ever since you have started school you wake up between 6:00-6:45 and want to start getting ready for the day even though you are still sooo tired. (before school started you would wake up around 7:30) One morning you came in our room all dressed and ready to go at 6:15am. You were sad when we sent you back in your room to go back to sleep. If I had to guess, I would say you are going to be a teacher when you grow up. You love to teach Lukie and your baby dolls what you learned in school that day.

The other day you told me, "Mommy, I don't want to have kids or a husband when I get older. I want to be a babysitter". We thought that was cute. You love to pray at dinner. Every night when you pray you include a little something about the orphanage that your cousins went and visited this summer. I think that made a little impact on your heart. You often want to send some of your toys or things to the kids at the orphanage. I hope someday we can go there with you. You love dessert. Every night before you are even done with your dinner you ask what for dessert. You are your mommy's daughter! You are a little daddy's girl. Every time we discuss our highs (best part of the day) and lows (worst part of the day), you tell me your low is that daddy had to go to work. You high is usually when daddy got home and wrested you. So sweet.

Thank you for being perfect and reminding me about simplicity.

I love you Logie Mae,
Mommy

That was fun...

A couple weeks ago I took a photography class with my very talented photographer friend, Cori Derksen. Cori has taken all of our family pictures for years. We love her. She is very talented and I just love her style of photography. So when I heard she was doing little workshops I wanted in!
Her goal is to teach the workshop attendees how to use their DSL camera on manual settings. I can say I am not good at it, but I at least now no where to start. Its going to take some serious practice to get it all right! Thanks to my mom for watching Luke and Logan for me so I could go to the class. (Luke was even sick) It was such a great day for me to do something I love. Very refreshing. I got to spend time with wonderful friends, eat some yummy food and learn to take better pictures. What a great day. If you are at all interested, I totally recommend it. Absolutely worth your investment. :)

Here are a few pictures (of the nearly 100) I took that day.

My workshop-mates...taking pictures of our little model Hailey
Our first model that we were able to practice on...Hailey Girl
My good friend Meg...I got lots of her since she was sitting across from me. :) Her man, Josh got her a NICE camera. What a sweet hubby!
Our next models for our outside photoshot...Madison and Ella. Beautiful girls.

Something Else I love...(Thank you Katrina)

My sweet friend Katrina (who has adorable little 11 month old Kenna) let me borrow my new "Something I love". It is fantastic. It is the Beaba Babycook (a baby food maker). It steams, purées and mixes the fruit/veggie all in one machine. It also stores the steamed water which holds all kinds of wonderful nutrients in it and adds it back into the blend when you puree it. WONDERFUL. Logan has been such a wonderful helper. She loves trying all the new baby food we make. And I LOVE the endless possibilities. If you have a little one or are pregnant, this is a must have. SO wonderful! And it saves you money. So much cheaper making your food verses buying it.

But I have to admit, I do still buy some baby food for on the go.

Pictures That Make My Heart Smile...

Had to share. I love pictures that capture a real moment. These pictures make my heart smile.
Sour blueberries....
Chubby baby in a little halloween suit. Seriously? Anyone need a 6-12 month costume? Because there is NO WAY we will be fitting in this in two months!
Its a party in Luke's bed!
Little Man just started giving kisses. Precious. Mommy loves it. Especially that he grabs my face to do it. My tank it full.
