Easter (okay so I know I am a little late)

There are so many things that change when you have a child. You see the whole world differently. Holidays are one of them. We have started traditions that we hope will help Logan understand the true meaning behind Easter. If we don't do that, its simply too easy to lose focus to what really matter. Because lets admit it, chocolate covered bunnies and eggs are pretty exciting when you're two. (okay so I still love them too)

Here are some fun pictures of our Easter weekend. It was filled with lots of friends and family. We enjoyed dieing Easter Eggs with Noah Brannon and his family on Saturday and church and Noni's on Sunday. Perhaps my favorite part was Trav's reenactment of the Easter Story on Easter morning in our PJ's. It was also great to hear Logans take away from it. Thats a story for another blog.

Hope you enjoy the pictures. Sorry its been so long.

Bounce House Fun!

Every week we trade date nights with our good friends Jen and Jerrod Rumley. We love it because we get a date night every other week. Logan and Cooper love it because they get to hang out. Its a win-win! This last week we had Cooper and usually after dinner we go to the park or for a walk to get out of the house. This particular night it was windy outside so we decided to stay in. The only problem was, the kids had a ton of energy AND we knew that once Jen and Jerrod got home from their date we wanted to put the kids to bed so we could play one of our favorite games, Settlers of Catan. So they needed to be tired. So Trav brought this bounce house inside for the kids to play on. It was awesome. We all had some much fun. This bounce house used to be my nephews but they are now too big for it. Thanks Castros!

This is definitely something we wouldn't normally do and I think thats why all of us loved it so much. The kids even enjoyed helping us deflate the bounce house and vacuuming after we picked everything up.

Here are some pictures of our night. Its fun to be spontaneous and break the rules every once and a while.

Grief Part 2

Everyday since my last blog entry I have thought about writing but have not found the time to do so. So I thought its now or never. But I am going to make this quick cause I know its going to be a long night due to Logan being sick. (and I have Trav waiting in bed for me...and thats always a very inviting place to want to be)

This ultrasound was taken the day that we lost the baby. I am pretty sure the baby was no bigger than a grape but the most amazing part about it, is that they could see a little heartbeat. Simply amazing. Its was such a gift to be able to see God’s little creation- our child on that computer screen. About 2 hours after this picture was taken I passed the baby. But I am just so thankful to have this amazing keepsake.

People have asked how we are doing and I have to say we are doing great. We have sad moments and have shared tears but at the end of the day, we trust that God sees the big picture. We also trust and know that God is the giver and taker of life and are okay with that. We are also so thankful for those that have prayed for peace for us. We have felt those prayers and can honestly say, we are at peace with this We have seen and experienced God faithfulness and love and know that there is no one we would rather follow and trust than Christ.

Well, I think that it for now. Thank you for being on this journey with us. This is just another chapter in our book. What will the next one be....stay tuned.
