Tonight I blog to remember God's Grace. He could have but He didn't. Not sure why, but I am thankful.
We were in a car accident a month ago. Travis, Logan and I watched a white work van smash into the side of our car going (approximately) 50 miles an hour. Minus some airbag and seatbelt burns, we all walked away without a scratch. The police officer that responded to the wreck told us he had recently witnessed the same type of car accident but a little boy died. He gave credit to our safe car (Pilot) and car seats (Britax). Of course we were thankful for these things but more thankful that the Lord said so. Although we know that being in the presence of the Lord will be wonderful and want nothing more, we were thankful the Lord gave us another day to love and teach our kids about Him.
(Trav went to the junk yard to take pictures of our car the next day)
As our car was towed away (yes it was totaled) Logan in tears asked if we could still go to her performance. We were on our way to her end of the year preschool performance when we got in the wreck. We figured not going would potentially make her night more traumatic. Since Logan's class was one of the last to perform, we were still able to get there before they got on stage. So we sat in the back of church crying as we listened to our daughter sing worship songs to the Lord. Because the Lord could have....but He didn't. Our night could have drastically been different, but it wasn't. And we were thankful.
That same week Luke choked on a strawberry. Without us seeing he grabbed a full size strawberry that was not cut for his little mouth to eat. He full on turned blue and couldn't breath. Insert panic. We were close, acted quickly and were able to help the strawberry come loose in his airway. Again, the Lord could have, but he didn't.
We blog because we want to remember.
